The Boulder Seniors Foundation, Inc. (BSF) is a non-profit organization that works to enhance the quality of life for Boulder's older population through support of Older Adult Services and the Age Well Centers. BSF provides funds to assist low-income older adults with emergency expenses and sponsors programs of interest to all older adults. Through individual donations and bequests BSF provides a way to directly support the older adults in our community.
More About Us:
BSF was established in 1980. Our original mission was to accept donations that would, in turn, be used to help support the Age Well Center and its activities. Over the years, proceeds from the fund’s investments were used for such things as purchasing a table tennis table, refurbishing a pool table, purchasing computers, sponsoring dances and other special events, sponsoring an older adult softball team, sponsoring a craft fair, and funding dinners for outstanding older adults. Perhaps the greatest accomplishment was purchasing a bus that was used to transport older adults to various sponsored events.
Today the City of Boulder operates two Age Well Centers, has a staff of employees dedicated to older adult services, and partners with many agencies and nonprofits to offer a variety of programs and services. With these changes, the mission of BSF has also evolved and today the foundation helps sponsor cultural and educational events and provides safety net services for older adults.
BSF does not receive any public funding, and functions entirely on public donations. All donations are tax deductible to our 501(c)(3) organization. We have been the beneficiaries of bequests from various estates, direct donations, and have been named in peoples' wills.
